SUBJ: The events of the previous evening.

It has come to my attention that word has been bandied about Caledon concering my actions on the previous evening. As to my motivations, I will not comment. As to the particulars, I will.

• Fact number 1: I have never used, nor WOULD ever use, a poisoned dagger.
  
  
• Fact Number 2: I deeply, deeply regret the injury to Mr. Pearse, an unfortunate result of the press of people and him being in the wrong place and the wrong time. I do hope that his wound heals and he experiences a full recovery from his injuries.

As for the rest, I will see you on the battlefield...
